Demolition of the Low Bay Hangar and Sky Chef Building and Deluge System Modification Project
This dynamic project for LAWA at LAX involved extensive demolition and new construction. As the electrical subcontractor, Technion Contractors performed demolition of electrical equipment and pathways at aircraft hangars and new construction of a 1.5 million gallon bolted steel tank fire pump building including five 400 hp electric fire pumps, including 5000A, 480V, 3P service, and installation of 3125 kVa back-up generator.
Fremont High School
The greenhouse classroom at Fremont High School was the first of its kind for LAUSD, combining commercial agricultural tools and technology with an educational classroom learning space.
Canfield Elementary School
Technion Contractor completed installation of a new HVAC system for the entire campus at Canfield Elementary School. The project also included ADA upgrades, interim housing, and temporary transfer of operational classroom and administrative rooms during construction through 7 phases.
Sunland Elementary School
At Sunland Elementary School Technion Contractors constructed a new three-level accessible passenger elevator with a bridge connecting the new structure to the existing two-story classroom building. The project also included various ADA upgrades to concrete, the playground, and a renovation of the entrance at the back of the school campus.
Qantas LAX Engineering Hangar, Vertical Works
Technion Contractors performed the electrical work for this first of its kind design-build project at LAX. The Engineering Hangar at LAX for the Qantas Airbus 380 is the largest airplane maintenance hangar in the United States, 480’ by 370’ and 12 stories tall.
Jefferson High School
Technion Contractors provided Jefferson High School with improvements to its athletic field. New athletic field lighting was installed at the existing athletic field including underground infrastructure and installation and erection of 90’ Musco lighting poles. A lighting ceremony kicked off the school’s home football senior and unveiled the new and improved field lighting.
Water Quality Control Plant Blower Building Transformer Installation and Distribution System “M” and “W” Replacement
Technion Contractors served at the prime contract on this project for the City of Riverside. Technion Contractors upgraded the existing electrical equipment and installed new, redundant medium-voltage automatic transfer switches to the Blower Building.
Van Nuys Elementary School
This project consisted of 7 phases, including relocation of operational classrooms and administrative offices during construction with minimal disruption to ongoing activities. The construction project was sitewide throughout the entire elementary school campus. The new HVAC system was installed over 39,200 sq’ of classroom and administrative buildings. The fire alarm system was installed over approximately 50,000 sq’. The project also included ADA upgrades consisting of three restrooms, two ramps, and resurfacing the asphalt parking lot with striping.
Airport Response Coordination Center
This state-of-the-art facility was a milestone for Technion Contractors and for LAWA. Technion contractors completely “gutted” the 4th floor in an existing operational building and built a technological and furnished infrastructure.
Paseo Del Rey Elementary Natural Science Magnet
This state-of-the-art facility was a milestone for Technion Contractors and for LAWA. Technion contractors completely “gutted” the 4th floor in an existing operational building and built a technological and furnished infrastructure to house the newly established Airport Response Coordination Center, the nerve-center and communication hub of the airport bringing together Airport Operations, Facilities Management, Airport Police and Emergency Services, Information Management Technology, and Transportation Security.
