Description
Greenhouse

Value
$1.2M

The greenhouse classroom at Fremont High School was the first of its kind for LAUSD, combining commercial agricultural tools and technology with an educational classroom learning space. Technion Contractors was the general contractor on this “ground-breaking” project, self-performing electrical, glazing, excavation/grading, and landscaping and partnering with a variety a specialty subcontractors and supply vendors for. The project consisted of new construction of a stand-alone 2,300 sq’ greenhouse classroom building, fully automated and climate controlled, at an existing, operational high school campus. The multi-use greenhouse area is used as an indoor classroom space, a community gathering area, and a farmers' market area.
