This state-of-the-art facility was a milestone for Technion Contractors and for LAWA. Technion contractors completely “gutted” the 4th floor in an existing operational building and built a technological and furnished infrastructure to house the newly established Airport Response Coordination Center, the nerve-center and communication hub of the airport bringing together Airport Operations, Facilities Management, Airport Police and Emergency Services, Information Management Technology, and Transportation Security. Technion Contractors contracted and coordinated with over 30 subcontractors and 15 specialty supply vendors to meet the high demand, fast-track schedule, delivering the functional facility on-time. The center was dedicated in a ribbon cutting ceremony in January 2011 with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa alongside other city and airport officials and the construction team.
