Technion Contractors performed the electrical work for this first of its kind design-build project at LAX. The Engineering Hangar at LAX for the Qantas Airbus 380 is the largest airplane maintenance hangar in the United States, 480’ by 370’ and 12 stories tall.
Technion Contractors provided site utilities, low-voltage, installation of light fixtures at a height of 120’, underground infrastructure and other electrical specialty work for the $30M facility.
Qantas Group Chief Executive Alan Joyce said that while Australia will always be the carrier’s primary maintenance location, “LAX is our next biggest transit point so we’re pleased to now have a facility that reflects that.”
